What if Ebrard won the elections?
What would be the electoral scenario heading into June 2 if former Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard were named — with the consent of AMLO, of course — the presidential candidate of Movimiento Ciudadano?
Surely there are many of us who consider what some mother-nos call a scenario.
To begin with, it would return to MC and its owner Dante Delgado a little of the great seriousness and dignity that they lost when nominating the beardless clown Samuel García as a formal candidate for the most important political position in the country, without him meeting either the quality or the ability to perform in the same…
…just as it would guarantee the oranges their survival in the regrettable party system that the country has…
…and, in one of those, it could even become the first electoral force.
Ebrard, on the other hand, would also be lifted from the ground to which he fell after his many complaints and hesitations about the partiality and dirtiness of the process through which López Obrador “uncovered” his favorite “corcholata” Claudia Sheinbaum.
He himself would see his dream of appearing on the 2024 presidential ticket fulfilled, as he has said on countless occasions.
And Andrés Manuel himself would have in his former collaborator a replacement to whom he could entrust the Presidency of the Republic in the increasingly possible case that the former head of the CDMX government continues without exciting potential voters…
…given their lack of drive, originality, political reflections and even physical presence…
…because with everything and the support that her boss provides her daily, she continues to appear as the weakest rival that the opposition would have the good fortune to find.
In short, Mrs. Claudia does not lift, and everything indicates that she will not lift, despite the many tens of millions of pesos that have been injected into her long campaign for more than two years now…
…and despite what the rigged surveys used as dissuasive propaganda say…
…all of this, of course, is well known to the tenant of the National Palace.
For the PAN, for the PRI and for the PRD, even for the civil society that supports Xóchitl Gálvez, on the other hand, confronting Ebrard would not be a piece of cake, but quite the opposite.
Survivor of countless falls and political disappointments, Marcelo has enough political skills to become, he himself, the rival to defeat with all his Strength and Heart committed to the task.
And that, until now, is difficult to achieve given the partisan rivalries within the Coalition opposing the regime that often overcome the enthusiasm, mental agility, originality and determination of the Hidalgo native.
And so, if AMLO decided to stop pushing Sheinbaum and instead give his full support to Marcelo, he could well become his successor.
Crazy scenario?
We’ll see.
Morelos, example of division
TRUE. The biggest Achilles heel of the opposition Coalition is made up of the rivalries that have arisen within it between representatives of the various party franchises that make up it.
As is known, it was the PRI that nominated Lucy Meza, who left the ranks of Morena to compete with the tripartisan flags that face the so-called Fourth Transformation.
And that caused anger among the PAN members led by Dalila Morales, since they wanted the current municipal president of Cuernavaca, José Luis Uriostegui Salgado, as a candidate to succeed the unpresentable Cuauhtémoc Blanco.
Almost a month ago, even though the national leaders of the PRI, PRD and PAN presented Mrs. Meza as their virtual candidate for the governorship of Morelos before the Institute of Electoral Processes and Citizen Participation (IMPEPAC), the state PAN did not sign that common candidacy that they proposed at the national level.
And since then, those of the party with the colors of the Virgin Mary have remained outside the presidential and state pre-campaigns.
A kind of sit-down that jeopardizes the possible victory of the opposition to Morena, given that the PRI has almost ceased to exist in the entity and that I better not even tell you about the PRD.
So this rivalry can become a gigantic stone in the shoe of the diminished opposition force in Morelos, despite all the Heart that Mrs. Gálvez and Meza put into their pre-candidacies.
Morelos, I repeat, is just one example of the internal divisions of the Coalition.
Indications
After having spoiled them with hugs for five years, now Andrés Manuel López Obrador takes the stage to say that fighting drug trafficking “is everyone’s task.” And yes, we already know that neither the Armed Forces, nor the monstrosity that is the National Guard and even less the Federal Security Secretariat — dedicated to regularizing “chocolate” cars and supposedly filling potholes, because they are the biggest problem facing society, hehehe — they have been able to handle this task for several six-year terms, either because they are in league with criminals, or because they are not prepared to combat them. Everyone’s task? It means that, again, AMLO is washing his hands? * * * Those who before that decided to confront the gangsters on their own were the brave inhabitants of the municipality of Texcatitlán, in the State of Mexico. The result was tragic: Eleven criminals were killed by machetes and three by those who offered their lives for the safety of their families and the cessation of the extortions to which they were subjected. An example for other towns that suffer the same problems throughout the country. The truth is that in the entity now governed by the Morenista Delfina Gómez, criminals and police and judicial authorities have long been practically the same thing. * * * The respectable can’t stop laughing after the new stitch of the comic-musical duet Samuel & Mariana. Now, to launch the lady herself as a candidate for mayor of Monterrey. The people of Monterrey and New Leon don’t win for antics, in general. Point, in fact, because the lady does not meet the residence requirement in the municipality that gives its name to the extensive metropolitan area of New Leon, since she lives in the San Pedro Garza García conurbation… even though she has cheated the INE by presenting an electoral credential with residence in the capital of that metropolis, in the style of AMLO himself, who despite having his domicile registered in Tabasco, contended and came to govern the then Federal District in one more of his frauds against the IFE of that time. * * * Those who constantly wonder how López Obrador’s children live in luxury? Should read the two books by Elena Chávez (The King of Cash and The Great Corruptor) where all the evidence of his enormous corruption is well described, before and during the so-called Fourth Transformation. * * * What will be worse? The “fucking privatization model,” as AMLO said this weekend, or the militarization of civilian activities? If the excuse is the corruption that prevailed in the first, in the second the high-ranking uniformed men do not sing the rancheras badly, as they say vernacularly. * * * Arriving late to her pre-campaign events has caused Claudia Sheinbaum to practically speak alone or with just a handful of “accompanied people.” In Coyoacán, where she met with young people, many of them left before she even arrived at the place where they had been waiting for her since 3:00 p.m. — she arrived until 5:00 p.m. — since they had been taken since 1:00 p.m. * * * And that’s all for today. I wish you, as always, good thanks and many, many days!
