Mexico is not a drug cartel. The government is

With all due respect to the presidential office, you, Mrs. Claudia Sheinbaum, are wrong.

Abroad, Mexico is not associated with drug trafficking.

It is the government that you supposedly lead that is known as such throughout the world.

The vast majority of Mexicans are not dedicated to the drug business.

Nor do we launder the profits from this multi-million dollar business in dollars.

We do not impose governors like Rubén Rocha Moya or senators like Enrique Inzunza –the power behind the throne in the Sinaloa Administration–, among others, at gunpoint .

Obviously, we do not cover them with the cloak of impunity that your predecessor and you have extended to them.

You’ll have to write it over and over again until you understand it, ma’am.

What is being talked about and written about all over the planet is the existence of a narco-government in our country, since the Fourth Transformation –as you call it– allied itself with criminals to gain and maintain power.

Since El Innombrable II coined the phrase “hugs, not bullets” in return for the support of drug traffickers…

…with assassinations of candidates…

…pressure and threats with high-caliber weapons to voters at the polls…

…and huge amounts of cash to fund the electoral campaigns of Morena candidates and their followers from the PVEM and the PT.

“Mexico is a great country” and “we are not going to allow it to be labeled, associated with the issue of drug trafficking as they have wanted to put it in many of the series (streaming , I imagine)” –some of them produced by a spoiled and well-supplied follower of the 4T, Epigmenio Ibarra– , you said, Mrs. Sheinbaum, at the end of last week.

And I repeat: it is not Mexico, nor Mexicans, who are labeled like this in other places.

It is to Morena, your narco-party, and to the Fourth Transformation that you say you are giving a second floor.

There are plenty of reasons and motives.

Obvious commitments

This is how, from the platform placed in the National Palace so that you can almost daily prescribe us a string of lies, these sibylline explanations offered only lead to a bloodbath, to the tacit acceptance that the regime is tied to dark and unknown designs, behind the popular will. There is still time to recognize it, anything else is irresponsible. It is a trap with no way out.

Because we are already living through a tragedy of incalculable and unpredictable civil proportions. Beware of indignation, of violent response, of the reaction of the deceived and disappointed people!

Because the lies come from you, the so-called empowered politicians, as well as from favored businessmen, even from drug traffickers, as well as from caciques and military commanders.

Every day there are Saracens, murders, massacres. And not only between the different criminal groups that fight over this or that square. No. They only kill ordinary citizens, like you, dear reader, like me. The drug traffickers have voted, liquidating with impu-ne-ment the candidates who are not to the liking of the 4T or who do not agree to be their accomplices or patrons.

We will begin to revive this situation shortly, under the pretext of the election of judges throughout the country.

Why, if the country is at peace, as you and your Secretary of Security, Omar García , boast –with declining figures for murders and massacres– at the matinees held at the National Palace, are there so many deaths? Hundreds every week.

This is the question… and perhaps it is the answer that does not want to say its name.

Is there fear or are there unspeakable commitments that are evident to Mexicans and the rest of the world?

Say it now or forever hold your peace.

Complicity with criminals

As far as we know, organized crime and subversive terror have never been fought with prayers, not even in confessional states. Much less with hugs. Much less with false statistics.

In all latitudes it has been considered that this State has yielded, that it has been humiliated, that the Armed Forces are in a state of crisis.

For all the explanations that were not asked for, there is a bag of obvious accusations.

Because it is not fair to play with your little ones when the grass is so dry and the prairie could burn.

Continuing to blame the holders of previous six-year terms is not accepting the basic error and this cannot be avoided with arguments arising from previous blame and even less from the worst of the authoritarian syndrome of unipersonal power, disdainful of the true popular mandate, which is no longer the one expressed by the majority at the polls because it is the product of a bought or blackmailed vote.

In a modern, informed society, there is no room for arguments that have already been applied in other times, dominated by misinformation and ignorance about public affairs.

That has always been the fault and the offense of the presidential regime, which has already exhausted its viability and reliability, and which has already left the marks of its failure in peaceful governance. It is useless to assume responsibility after the event. The offense to common sense will prevail and will never be forgiven.

And yes, those of your predecessor and of you, Mrs. Sheinbaum, and your meetings at six in the morning with that thing called the “security cabinet”, only give blind blows, worse than those that caused the major error. No one, ever, is so infallible and credible to make decisions that are not accepted by the majority. The despotic stench no longer fits when the avalanche of evidence, shown throughout the world, has magnified the blunder.

Because in an age where immediacy and information evidence prevail, one must be careful. It is impossible and unsuccessful to act in the dark. Everything is known the instant it happens.

What do they talk about at these meetings, if they still take place?

From your complicity? How much money will you receive for each hug you give to the criminals? From the sharing of the loot among you?

Meanwhile, the drug traffickers will return to voting, murdering and funding campaigns for candidates for judges, magistrates and ministers who are not “in line” with the 4T.

Because it hurts to say it, but in Mexico there is a narco-government.

Clues

Remember that Andrés Manuel López Obrador took his failed “hugs, not bullets” strategy to the extreme, because criminals “also have human rights” and, in that vein, offered criminals that, if they disarmed and surrendered, they could obtain amnesty, legal business, live longer, and even “social respectability.” This was detailed in the decree approving the National Public Security Strategy of the Government of Mexico, which was published on May 17, 2019, in the Official Gazette of the Federation . The document argued that, given the impossibility of defeating criminal groups solely with the use of the police and the Armed Forces, it was necessary to apply a transitional justice model. Specifically, these were “special laws to put an end to armed confrontations and to enable the disarmament and surrender of offenders, guaranteeing their rights and offering them reduced sentences and even amnesties conditional on the forgiveness of people and communities that have been affected and offering them a change of life.” And what happened? How many criminals surrendered? How many deaths could have been avoided? * * * I recognize that you have read this far. And as always, I wish you good thanks and many, many days!
