“Mexican Humanism”: A New Military Doctrine?
Now, as they say, my general secretary of Defense has “whipped himself”… a department from which they have already removed that of National.
To argue, as he did just this November 20, that it is “Mexican humanism” that motivates the commanders and troops of the Army is not only fallacious, but also completely absurd. An unnecessary act of untimely sycophancy, because AMLO is no longer the Supreme Commander. Or is he still?
And no, it’s not my invention.
Literally, Mr. Ricardo Trevilla pointed out that the “main premise that moves us every day to serve society in all types of situations, this firm ideal, now more than ever, is brought to life in this new stage in which Mexican humanism , honesty, closeness to the people, freedom, diversity and the supreme interest of the people of Mexico are valued.”
Mexican humanism?
What’s that?
Let him explain to us, so we don’t have to ask, how the regime that the highest-ranking official has served and continues to serve practices honesty, closeness to the people, freedom, and diversity.
What are you talking about, general?
How humane are the “killings” — murders, in fact — of alleged criminals who should be brought before the public prosecutor?
And do the high levels of lethality correspond to “Mexican humanism”?
Historically, who have filled the dungeons of the barracks and military camps to which we should now put an H before them, for Humanitarian Military Zones and Humanitarian Military Regions?
Another question:
Did the 27th Infantry Battalion act “humanely” in the Iguala tragedy?
And a couple more:
Was it thanks to “Mexican humanism” that one of your predecessors, Salvador Cienfuegos, was cleared of all charges of drug trafficking by the United States?
Will it be, perhaps, that “Mexican humanism” will replace the traditional military doctrine that exalts loyalty to Mexico and its citizens, to transfer it only to the Movement initiated by Andrés Manuel López Obrador ?
Do not distort, General, the traditional military philosophy that the Mexican National Army has once displayed and that earned it the respect and even the affection of the majority of society.
Do cartels also practice this?
It was during the 14th and 15th centuries of our era that the philosophical current of humanism was born and developed.
This prioritized reason over faith and was interested in the concept of man as the center of the universe.
It was stated that human beings have the right and responsibility to give meaning and shape to their own lives.
“Mexican humanism,” as a mere whim of AMLO, prioritizes the so-called Fourth Transformation and its hegemonic aims over citizens, non-governmental organizations, trade and business groups, and other political parties.
Mexicans only have the rights that the 4T wants to grant them, since this Movement lightly assumes the responsibility of giving meaning and shape to our lives.
This is how dozens, if not hundreds, of our fellow countrymen have died due to the “humanitarian” action of scarce medicines and poor health services.
How many children must have died due to such deficiencies in order for a ruler to be considered a humanist?
How many massacres must he have committed and how many intentional murders must he commit each day for his citizens to admire his humanism?
Does the “Mexican humanism” of the 4T deserve respect if it constantly diverts budget items — with the knowledge and patience of the useless Superior Audit of the Federation — destined for education, health care, among others, so that its pharaonic works never lack resources and will never serve any purpose?
Can someone who hands over control of the State to cartels and other criminal groups and syndicates be considered a humanist?
How humanistic is someone who never listens, does not engage in dialogue, always imposes and says he will never make mistakes, thereby refuting the classic aphorism “to err is human”?
And in that vein, could you consider López Obrador a humanist if he believes himself to be a god or, every time he compares himself to Jesus Christ?
Does a humanist have the right to minimize women’s struggles, to ignore the increasing number of femicides, to leave those who have been and are beaten, abused and violated without protection and shelter?
Will all those children who no longer receive care in the now-defunct nursing homes that received, cared for and fed them while their parents worked grow up believing that the Tabasco native was a great humanist?
And the relatives of all of us who lost a loved one, a family member, a friend because the great humanist that AMLO claims to be recommended not wearing face masks, invoking the saints printed on cardboard, hugging each other and going out to eat at restaurants while the pandemic was advancing rapidly, do we call this complete ignoramus a humanist?
No. This writer would never call him that…
…nor, of course, to the purely electoral policies of the so-called Fourth Transformation…
… that distributes public money in exchange for almost canine loyalty to the leader, to his Movement and now, conveniently, to the formal President Claudia Sheinbaum.
Or would you dare to call a perverse character a humanist who, in just six years, acted like Herod , like Adolf Hitler and like Joseph Stalin … those great “humanists” of History?
I won’t tell you, my General Trevilla!
Clues
In her inaugural address on October 1, President Claudia Sheinbaum pointed out that with the humanistic thinking of the Fourth Transformation, the myths of the past of the neoliberal period that cost Mexico so much and marked history for 36 long years fell apart, since it was said that the State would have to subject itself to market forces. To which are you now anchored? To authoritarianism? * * * That’s all for today. I acknowledge your reading of this Political Index and, as always, I wish you good thanks and many, many days!
