Lose all hope! (*)
For Mexicans, History has been cyclical, repetitive, disgustingly the same.
Master Crane Brinton said in his lectures at Harvard, taking up an initial phrase by Jorge Santayana , that “he who does not know History is obliged to repeat it… and he who knows it, too.”
Two hundred years of presidentialism, we live that same story several times every day.
The succession of heads of the Federal Executive extraordinarily endowed with powers by the laws — and even above the laws — has been a catalog of characters who not only destroy all their campaign promises, but also any vestige of the past, whether beneficial or not. Everyone tries to leave their mark, even if it is disposable six years later.
We Mexicans continue to go to the polls with a hope that takes little time to demonstrate that that was a passing illusion. The so-called Head of State and Government, supported by well-paid troupes of the media and pollsters, each do their part.
Whoever occupies the Presidency complies with singing the national anthem a hundred or more times a day and continuing to promise earthly paradise for the needy near and far, for the favorites and for the defiled of the kingdom. Even critical consciousness and progressive approaches succumb to such foolishness.
The innovative ideas are erased from the proclamations and solutions, even from the approach methodologies. Today, for example, with Andrés Manuel López Obrador , for the first time in recent decades, any programmatic position of transformation has been conspicuous by his absence. The country has been left without a voice of warning amid the greatest misfortune.
In the diminished cabinets — because AMLO is everything, as his predecessors have also been — there is an insane tendency to shuffle the chips, make the soup, and leave the same mules, only now announced by too many lies, occurrences and simulations deceitful people who only seek to convince us that if they were not there this would be chaos.
Minor figures who cannot be trusted with the destiny of this Nation that has been deceived for two hundred years repeat and embed themselves in the strategic positions of the apparatus.
Any team integration exercise aims to repeat the same mistakes: seating the same leaders who do not get in the way, who do not overshadow the brilliance of the so-called President.
The leaders of the Chambers, the ministers of the Court of Justice, those in charge of the economy and financial negotiations are destined to do the same as their predecessors. The system is insurmountable, interests define the parameters.
The system is also impenetrable in the persistent continuation of imbalances, in the enthronement of the unredeemed incapable. In the one-person presidential system of the nerds, everything will have to work the same as always… until the body lasts.
A super powerful Executive who neither binds nor unties
In the country of gridlock, at the point of no return, in the squared circle of the system, the disastrous results of presidentialism call for us to be sensible for the only and unrepeatable time.
Let the command of a solitary and omnipotent madman safe from popular and historical judgment not be repeated.
Let the destruction of what remains stop.
The legal framework, the constitutional bases of the secular system divided into three powers…
…the dislocated Executive…
…the Legislative, which is of no use for damning the thing, other than to respond to the bizarre and mindless decisions of the Executive…
…and the Judiciary under permanent siege…
…they are where formal power is based.
We have had AMLO-type presidents, whose worn-out nerves and neural system of a manipulated being constantly slip away from the stage to rest from internal pressures.
Neuropsychiatric disorders, constantly affected in their learning files, memory and congenital lack of reaction to what is important and urgent, require more supervision, both medical and political.
A super powerful and unassailable Executive, Head of State and Government who neither binds nor unleashes. He only destroys relentlessly, without knowing the limits of constitutional contempt, without having checks or balances that help him, at least, float for the good of the country.
An Executive without the legal, economic, cultural, financial, international equipment, without the basic knowledge of the art/science of governing, without the hard data on the functioning of the administrative apparatus, can only make decisions directed to the detriment of popular interests and governability. required.
Presidentialism is already worn out
Without a hint of modesty, prudence, moderation, and sanity, Mexican presidentialism navigates among a stormy sea of internal interests and foreign aggression that does not know where they come from or what their origin is: it is like trying to teach a tostón to a pig. Impossible, against nature, unfortunately.
And that’s frankly not possible. This no longer works, neither as a backdrop for everyday deceptions, nor as an excuse for good intentions, which never appear on stage.
The life cycle of an imperial regime with a six-year kingship that has no comparison anywhere in civilized regimes has ended.
Not even in the world of poor countries. Unbelievably, only eighteen countries in the world have a presidential system like ours. The vast majority have already put limits on it because it does not serve to defend the ways, manners, or the elementary symbols of any modern country.
And here we have been blown throughout our existence by a cataract of advertising spots that only serve to stain the squares and to enrich the advertisers during the campaigns and on election day, although it is not allowed. And from then on, if I saw you, I don’t remember.
The infamous promises “because the best is yet to come” are the same for any winning candidate, call it the fight against corruption, in favor of the poor, zero blackouts, zero tax and price increases, fighting crime, stopping theft of the budget, praise for honesty and political honesty. Until they arrive to do the same, or to be worse than those who left.
In an open ark, anyone sins. The omnipotent power is dedicated to pillage and predation before the astonished eyes of the world. It’s always been the same. And today doesn’t have to be any different. Less so when the person who exercises it comes from where they come from. Impossible to ask pears from the elm. Rogue and ignorant presidentialism is the only possible result.
In the coming post-election war, we will all be harmed.
Indications
The Homeland, which is the group of citizens of a country looking after the well-being of each one of them regardless of their race, sex, religion, ideology, or income, formed long lines yesterday in front of the polling stations to go and cast their vote. . It is the greatness of patriotism, of the Homeland, which is built superficially with flags, but really with taxes that allow all its members to be cared for in pain, illness, or old age with identical means and by the best professionals. That’s why we voted yesterday! * * * And that’s all for today. I acknowledge that you have read this text up to these lines. As always, I also wish you good thanks and many, many days!
