Crazy Trump vs. #NarcopresidenteAMLO

They insist on calling him President. Mrs. Claudia Sheinbaum does it , from the loft of the National Palace, to the last of the beneficiaries of the so-called Welfare handouts in their homes lacking all public services. Confession on the part of Andrés Manuel López Obrador who still plays the tambourine that the others dance to his rhythm.

It is because of his “policies” — impolitical, because they do not benefit the polis , but only his Movement — of allying himself with “the cartels… the main traffickers of fentanyl, methamphetamine and other drugs in the world”, that the unhinged Donald Trump has imposed 25% tariffs on the exports of our producers to his country.

There is no need to look for more people to blame. Let’s not blame Trump. The only one is López Obrador, whom the popular voice rightly dubbed #NarcopresidenteAMLO .

But we should also add those who still follow him and obey him blindly and thoughtlessly: his #narcomanadas : governors, senators, deputies, mayors… nominated by him and only by him through Morena and, in many cases, brought to power with the lethal and economic support of criminals.

The crisis that was warned about here and in other places is knocking at the door.

The economy has been stagnant for more than six years now…

…the rule of law has been broken with the reforms that distort the judiciary…

…the autonomous constitutional bodies that prevented the concentration of public power in the Executive have disappeared…

… without budgetary resources to even address what is necessary (security, health, education, roads, energy) …

…it is the #narcogovernment of the 4T that has dragged the country into the terrible situation it is already facing…

…without any indication of the capabilities of the Administration formally headed by Mrs. Sheinbaum to even overcome it.

We’re screwed, Mexicans!

And it is all the fault of #narco-crime that began more than six years ago with “hugs, not bullets” for criminals… “because they are also people” … and because “they have human rights.”

The cost in homicides, massacres, disappearances, kidnappings, extortions and, now, tariffs, is already very high.

Donald’s Plan D

For at least three months, Mrs. Sheinbaum has been making Mexicans dizzy when they watch her “people’s morning shows” with “pure talk.”

That Trump boasted. That we have the National Anthem. That she didn’t believe. That she said sovereignty. That she would wait until the repeat President of the United States gave his inaugural address. That applying tariffs would affect the northern neighbors more. That refrigerators, screens, cars. Hollow, unbearable and repetitive speeches with which she tried to hide the fear of the storm that was coming upon her.

The latest news, before she said she was “calm” this past Saturday morning, just hours after the White House announcement, is that her government had a Plan A, a Plan B and a Plan C to deal with any adverse situation.

He did not mention Plan Ch, which is about holding responsible those who are said to live in “La Chingada.”

And in the end, it was Donald’s Plan D that prevailed.

Minisix-year term, the current one

If it ever started, Sheinbaum’s six-year term is already over. It lasted much less than a whistle.

His first three months were spent continuing to tie up the pact of impunity with drug traffickers, finishing off the destruction of the country’s economy, accelerating administrative and budgetary spending –AIFA, Dos Bocas, Tren Maya, Mexicana de Aviación, but above all Pemex CFE– for the convenience of the favorites, plus absolute chaos in all areas.

And if in the last six years the AFORES had already been looted, she complied with the order and now she is going for the theft of the savings of the INFONAVIT workers, just as her predecessor ordered.

It was a federal administration continued by the one that began in 2018 and by AMLO’s political offspring in the three branches of government, Executive, Legislative and Judicial and in the three geographic levels, federal, state and municipal, guided by plunder and the destruction of the concept of Mexicanness, of the very idea of a country. They should never have settled at the top of power.

The sick Trump

And yes. True. It takes two to tango. The counterpart of this trade “war” — after Marcelo Ebrard announced revenge with tariff measures on imports from the United States — the man sick with power and ambition who occupies the White House, ultimately sees himself as an underdog who refuses to accept his decline and wants to make the United States “great again.”

He wants to make his own crackling sound, despite all the evidence of mental, physical, organic and moral collapse. The situation is atrocious, but some countries manage to live through it. By putting up with those who don’t care too much about being put up with.

Mexico and its northern neighbor are skewered. Because of the obstinacy of those who are sick at giving orders –AMLO and Trump, of course– , even though they cannot and should not, because they resist being replaced at calm and opportune moments, when storms and cyclones do not arise during changes of command, when a country does not fall headlong into its own paranoia of power.

Ambitious and unfortunately healthy individuals, although mentally affected, take advantage of men and women who are diminished in their physical abilities and in their normal reactions to any eventuality, to manipulate them to suit their whims, without limits of ridicule, without horizon in their daring.

Obviously, a sick person, worthy of any compassion, becomes dangerous when he wants to continue playing the tambourine at all costs, or when he intends to do so, because he does so until it has become more than evident that all effort is null.

Not doing so is beyond all logic and makes the rest of society sick. The inhabitants of Mexico, the United States and Canada, with millions of poor, needy and even hungry people, do not deserve such affronts. Ambition touches the threshold of absurd sacrifice, bordering on the insane.

Here we are worse off

We have a six-year government that has gone so far as to discredit its only institutions responsible for the oversight, honesty and impartiality of the application of justice. With electoral bodies, to begin with, that are crying out to be declared incompetent and incapable, for the good of all.

The four-handed gang thus obtained an absolute, superlatively cynical power, by clinging to the use of the powers of the State to consummate their nonsense, to impose their ignorance and unbridled prevarication, the abuse of functions, the contrived sale of national sovereignty, the surrender to foreign executioners and the substitution of the prevailing norms, always breaking their word.

They are called cynics only because the long-standing custom of Mexican journalism has taken on the habit of avoiding the exact, necessarily silly, qualifications to refer to those who, from any position, destroy the dignity and pride of those well born in this generous land.

There is, however, a shortness in this grammatical award that requires a “enough is enough” to the so-called rulers of Mexico, plus those who have crossed the line, the dark chestnut, to make their monetary interests prevail “in alliance with drug trafficking” over collective demands.

The historic trial against AMLO and his followers will come, whether you like it or not.

We hope to see you soon.

Clues

“We need other options to stop the cartels from smuggling drugs and people and encouraging violence in our country,” said the head of the US Pentagon, Peter Hegseth , on Saturday — after Trump imposed the tariffs . This week he will send a thousand more soldiers to our northern border. And although he later softened his tone in a conversation with the Secretaries of National Defense, Ricardo Trevilla, and of the Navy, Raymundo Morales, what should worry and, above all, occupy our Armed Forces is that “all options” are open. One of them, like the “precision attack” ordered by the White House against members of the Islamic State in Somalia? Remember that, like the Somalis, the Mexican drug traffickers have already been classified as “terrorist organizations.” * * * That’s all for today. I acknowledge your reading of this Political Index and, despite the situation caused by the 4T, I wish you good luck and many, many days!
