As an opposition candidate, Andrés Manuel López Obrador was the best that the Mexican-style system could find. Clear, critical, and even purposeful, pointing out what he would do — and that he would do it better — when he came to power.

As President of the Republic, he is and has been a complete failure.

He betrayed his promises and commitments. He betrayed Mexico. He betrayed himself.

In less than two months, at dawn on September 31, he will formally leave power… although it is assumed that he will continue to exercise it from his farm in Palenque.

It leaves a territory empty of future.

A cursed inheritance that the country will take several six-year terms to conjure if her successor Claudia Sheinbaum manages to wean her political progenitor.

Meanwhile, the snipers of power, knowing that a change of government, political forms and system is coming, remain waiting for a bone they can gnaw.‎

What is left is a nerdy and discredited Executive, a Legislative Branch that in six years acted without agenda or substance and without taking a single comma away from the whims of the little dictator, a Judicial Branch harassed by determining that those abuses by deputies and senators have been unconstitutional. by Morena. State and municipal governments in debt and looted by their leaders and their shameful congresses and councils.

Opposition: subsidized shells

The only thing there is an Army and Navy recognized abroad for their high lethality against the innocent and for being caravans and safeguards for the personal security of the most bloodthirsty bosses. What there is are the middle classes in the whirlwind of criticism at palace matinees and in the spirals of misinformation and civic apathy, dry grass for any call for brainless people and any impertinent cacerolazo. Catholic cardinals and pastors of the flock accused in all shades of pedophiles and influence peddlers, pending justice.

What we have is paralyzed production, primary activities destroyed due to lack of credit and guarantees. The industrial and manufacturing secondary sectors, discouraged by tax regressions in favor of the tertiary, consumerism, and services sectors, rewarded with multimillion-dollar tax refunds, charged to our contributions.

Education, in the hands of those who seek to ideologize children and young people, preparing them for the final blow: Socialism of the 21st Century… Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela style . The abandoned field and fishing. Cooperatives and associations of producers absolutely ignored and uncovered.

Opium dream. Carnival of corruption

What remained: corrupt authorities of all levels and genders, along with their children and other relatives, hidden under the skirts of shrapnel, strictly dedicated to plunder and pageantry. Judged in advance by every Mexican with half a brain and dignity.

All the mercenaries of power willing to be pitied in foreign courts.
